Presenter: Alexandria Mitchell
Alexandria is a seasoned communications and economic development professional who has worked for dynamic municipalities including the City of Abbotsford and the City of Surrey. She is also an MBA Candidate at Simon Fraser University.
Her work has spanned the Asia Pacific Region where Alex has worked with various levels of government and industry. Her approach is unique in that she focuses on building deep and meaningful relationships with partners.
Alexandria has a background in sustainability from looking at low carbon development in Guyana, working on renewable energy advancement in New Delhi, to working as an analyst at high level government negotiations on climate change.
She studied Political Sciences at the University of British Columbia and is currently working towards her ECD. Designation (Certified Economic Developer, Economic Developers Association of Canada). Alexandria was a 2015 fellow in SFU Beedie School’s Social Innovation Lab (RADIUS) and is a Weston Loran Scholar.
Today Alex runs her own consulting company: IM Global Strategies, which helps organizations meaningfully engage with their stakeholders and partners. She primarily works with local governments and social enterprises.
